Emperor Dasarath longed to have a son to succeed him, for his throne. At the same time, the evil demon, Ravana, had been granted a boon earlier, by the god Brahma, who was the creator of the universe, that makes him immortal to any god, therefore a human has to kill him. No human, however is brave enough to face him in battle. The gods, who long to rid of the evil and malicious Ravana, asked the lord of the gods, Vishnu, to reincarnate as a human, to defeat Ravana. Thus Rama, was born as the son of Emperor Dasarath, as a virtuous character, who commits no sin. Along with Rama, were three other brothers, Bharat, Lakshmana, and Shatrughna. When the time had come, and Rama was going to be installed as the king, Rama was exiled, by his father Dasarath, because his evil wife, Kaikeyi, told him to, and told Dasarath to install Rama's brother, Bharat as king. Rama, was begged to stay, but because of his virtuous character, he took his exile of fourteen years in the forest. With him went his wife Sita, and his protecting brother Lakshmana. Angry with his mother, Bharat begged Rama to come back, but Rama refused.
In the forest one day, a demon, saw Rama, and asked to have him as her husband. Already married to Sita, Rama refused. Angered by this, the demon ran to her brother, Khara, and he sent 14,000 demons after Rama. But with lighting quick speed, Rama defeated the demons. One surviving demon went to Ravana, and told him of Rama. At this point, some of the demons knew that Rama was Vishnu, but it didn't matter to the arrogant Ravana. He decided that he would weaken Rama, by kidnapping Sita. He went to the forest, drew Rama and Lakshmana away, and grabbed Sita. Rama, angered, went to the aid of powerful monkeys. They, along with Rama and Lakshmana eventually found Sita in Lanka, and got ready to prepare for battle. Fierce battles took place, Hanuman, a monkey versus Nikumbha, Lakshmana against Indrajit, until the inevitable must take place. Rama versus Ravana...
